Ristra (REE-strah) - a Spanish term referring to a hand strung rope of foods, primarily chilis or garlic. Chili ristras are mainly used for decoration, but many people let the chilis dry and use them as seasoning in cooking, pulling the chiles off one-by-one from the bottom.
